Reduced Reviews are single paragraph reviews which give my overall view of the game/film/etc in question. This time it’s the film Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
Let’s get the vital part of this film over with first: it’s bloody. Very bloody. If you feel you won’t cope with seeing a large number of throats being slit then refrain from watching. Apart from that the film was entertaining, even with the constant singing about everything (but it’s a musical so it’s not surprising). It did feel a little short however. There was not the suspense and drama you usually expect in a film. The film was adapted from a stage musical which could explain the shortness.
Very bloody musical which is well acted and enjoyable and the story is well told but felt quite short even though it was just short of 2 hours.

Reduced Reviews are single paragraph reviews which give my overall view of the game/film/etc in question. This time it’s the game Battlefield 3 for the PC.
The multi player brings back the fun memories of Battlefield 2 with the jets and helicopters flying overhead and tanks rolling across these huge maps. It’s an awful lot of fun and a refreshing change to recent FPS games which are focused on small maps and infantry warfare only. The single player, while still fun to play and the story is well written and interesting, is let down by the unneeded and stupid Quick Time Events (QTE). Why do I have to hit certain keys to beat a rat off of my finger or to keep having to press space to rappel down a lift shaft 6 feet before pressing space again?
Fantastic multiplayer with huge maps and a good singleplayer but is let down by overuse of Quick Time Event segments.
